Another day in Paradise!!

We mainly just stayed home today, until about 2pm! For some reason, I just couldn't get it together enough to leave my house today!! We went to Emma's eye doctor's office to have her glasses adjusted, and she fell asleep shortly after we left there. On the way home we got Carter some ice cream (Emma's idea-poor baby was asleep!) We are getting ready to go to the gym now. I'm meeting Ricky (DH) there.

Hug your babies!!

Hug your babies y'all.....a friend of a friend of mine just lost her two year old yesterday. They donated her organs due to her being brain dead. It is crushing to me b/c she was two years old, the same age as my Emma. The little girl's name was Vivian, and she drowned in their family pool week before last. I really need to appreciate my kids more, even during stressful times, because I'm so glad to have them here with me!!! :)

My Dining Room!!

I don't have a true dining room--the dining area is attached to my kitchen. Here is the view when you are walking in from my living room.
This is one of the walls I'm not sure about. A few comments from Rate my Space stated the items weren't large enough for this area.

Here is the view from my kitchen! My husband put up these letters above the windows. We really thought it would be an easy, short project....it took him three hours!!

Carter is no longer a first grader & my baby got glasses!! :)

Carter is officially a second grader as of school's end today!! :( I cannot believe he has gotten so grown up overnight. Emma got her glasses yesterday & she looks adorable. Check out her picture!! I was so nervous for her. I just don't want it to hold her back from doing anything she wants. I got my hair cut today & went to the gym for the first time today. I joined yesterday!!-Jessica

Four days of school left!!

I cannot believe it, but Carter is about to be a 2nd grader!! Just four days left of first grade. Tomorrow I'm going help at Field day at his school. This weekend, I worked Friday & Saturday. Today, Emma & I went to Old Navy & Bed Bath & Beyond to shop. Not for too long b/c she was over it. We came home & I tried to keep her occupied w/ her favorite tv shows b/c it was killing me, I needed to watch Grey's Anatomy!! I'm pretty sad they killed Izzy & George off. I knew that was George the second they got him into a trauma room!! I remember them doing the same thing with ER years ago, but the guy was hit by a train. -Jessica

Mother's Day

I hope I'm doing this right!! My idea of a fabulous Mother's Day is going to church with my family, and spending time with my favorite people--my husband and kids. Also, I wish my kids would be angels at a restaurant for us to go and eat!! Nowhere fancy, Mexican food would be nice...is that too much to ask? My two year old is not always good in restaurants, it's her age & the fact that she doesn't like to eat!! A nap would be nice, too. :)

I think we will do the things I listed, but also we will go visit my mom & my Mother-in-Law at some point in the day.

My mom is the reason why I am the person I am today. Sure, I have some mom issues like most people. But my mom was always very independent and I feel that has made me a stronger woman. She basically raised us alone. My father traveled a lot and wasn't very supportive even when he was home. My mom always told me I was beautiful, and instilled confidence in me, even when I didn't realize she was doing it. I love you, Mom!!
